Odds and Ends - March 7, 2004

The Parish Administrator is in the office Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The office is closed otherwise. The Sexton is in the building Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri from 1:00pm - 4:00pm and Wednesdays from 8-11am.

Attention: For anyone requiring transportation to the Church on Sundays, please leave your name, address and phone number with the Church Office. We will try you make the necessary arrangements. Please call before Thursday.

Events of the Community

St.Joseph's Anglican Church in Brossard (Provencher), will be holding a Fund-Raising Luncheon and Bake Sale on March 20th from 11am-1pm. Tickets are $5 per person and $2 for children under age 8. For more information or to reserve tickets, please call 672-7376.

St.Francis of Assisi (CWL) is holding a St.Patrick's Day Lunch & Card party on Monday March 15th at noon. 844 Notre Dame Ave. Admission: $7.00 - Prizes included.

The Second Annual St.Patrick's Day Feast - Saturday March 20th at 6:30pm at St.Andrew's Church. A delicious Irish feast along with singing and Celtic Fiddle Music. Tickets: $15 - available at the Church office (450) 671-1862.

Thursday morning study Group meets on Thursdays, from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 496 Birch Ave. We will be focusing on "The Lord's Prayer". We began last week, but it is not too late to join us! This week we will focus on the petition "Your Kingdom come." Why not drop by this Thursday!

Lenten Discussion Group: at St. Andrew's Church (496 Birch) on Mel Gibson's "The Passion", "The Da Vinci Code", or any other topic that interests the group. We are also going to make use of Tom Wright's video series "Jesus: The New Way". Group runs until Easter. For more information, please speak to Rev. Barry Mack at (450) 671-1862.

Ecumenical Curling Social - March 13th 2-6:00pm Join us for an afternoon social exchange at the Curling Club, or for a chance to try your skill on the ice. A small fee to help pay for the rental. South Shore Chorus - Come to the Cabaret/Pasta Dinner, a fund-raising event of monumental proportions. Saturday March 13th at 5:30pm. A good time will be had by all. Tickets: $15/adults, $7.50/ children under 12. Chambly Academy, 675 Green street - 656-4167

Our Harbour/ Le Havre à Nous mission is to provide supportive housing for people living with mental difficulties and illness. Thus allowing persons with mental health problems to live a more comfortably, productive and independent life within our community

Monday March 8 - Cribbage will be played at Maison Desaulniers at 1:15 pm. Cost: -$3.00. Refreshments will be served.

Thursday March 18 - A Quilt and Teddy Bear Exhibition will be held at Maison Desaulniers from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Tea, coffee and dessert will be served.

The South Shore Community Partners - An Intergenerational, English-language Computer Course will be held at Chambly Academy for seniors (55+). Computer basics will be taught over a 5-week period, with 90minute sessions, on Wednesdays. A $30 fee will be charged and space is limited. Come learn about the What, the Ware and the Mouse! Greenfield Park United Church will be holding a Spring Fashion Show on Friday March 26th starting at 2:00pm, with guest commentator, Kim Fraser from CJAD 800AM. Door prizes and refreshments. A donation of $10 will be taken at the door. Info: 466-8995
