A church is more than just bricks
and mortar, it is the people who belong to the community. We are the bricks,
and our faith is the mortar. Without a building, we are still a church. This
is the background to our community at St. Barnabas. We love our church building,
but we also see ourselves as the body of the church in the community. The
church building itself includes the worship space, two halls and four small
meeting rooms. One of the rooms also houses our library that is being revamped
by some of our volunteers. The worship space and the lower floors have recently
been renovated to include the installation of a handicap access elevator.
We are also making modifications
to other parts of our property to make it more easily available.
We recognize that there are many people in the outside community who would
like to be able to worship in a church, but are held back due to some form
of physical disability. We gave ourselves a mandate to raise the money and
install an elevator as soon as possible. The work started in October 2000
and has finally been completed. We look forward with anticipation to seeing
old friends come back to worship with us on Sundays, and hope that we will
be meeting many new friends who will take advantage of this new benefit.

The church has many fine stained
glass windows that you can see if you follow the link. Please come and
see us at St. Lambert Days when we hope to host an open house, or join us
any Sunday for our regular worship.
